5 Best Family Hotels in Tokyo: Rooms That Fit Four

For a family of four, start with MIMARU Tokyo Station East if you want a kitchen, MONday Apart Asakusabashi Akihabara if private laundry matters, or Tobu Hotel Levant Tokyo if everyone needs a conventional bed. Keio Plaza adds more space and two toilets; Hotel Metropolitan Edmont is the option to compare when you need room for five.

These are five different answers to a family booking problem. The list focuses on Tokyo city stays, so an airport night or a Disney-focused trip should be planned separately. Choose the room that solves your main constraint, then compare it with one alternative.

Choose the district first with where to stay in Tokyo. This article answers the next question: which specific room can accommodate your family?

Narrow the List to Two

Decide which problem you most want the hotel to solve. Different sleeping schedules, wet clothes and a difficult station transfer are separate problems; an attractive photograph does not tell you which one a property solves.

• You will prepare meals: compare MIMARU with MONday. Decide whether more space or private laundry matters more.
• Older children need equal beds: compare Tobu Levant with Keio Plaza. Check the price difference for your dates before paying for more room.
• There are five of you: compare Edmont with Keio Plaza using the actual fifth guest, not a four-person search followed by a special request.

Give each hotel one journey test: your arrival with luggage and the return from your longest sightseeing day. Avoid choosing a base only because it suits the first train you will take. A longer arrival may be acceptable if the rest of the stay becomes simpler.

1. MIMARU Tokyo Station East: Kitchen and Apartment Space

Search for the One-Bedroom Family Apartment. The official room page lists two singles and a bunk in 39–41 m², with capacity for four adults. The kitchen suits simple meals and snacks. This category uses coin laundry; it does not have the private washer-dryer shown for certain larger suites.

The reason to choose it is how you expect to use the room between outings. A kitchen is valuable when you will actually bring food back, sit down and eat. If every meal will be out and nobody likes a bunk, apartment facilities should not outweigh the bed choice.

Check the map rather than reading the name as an access promise. The hotel is in the Hatchobori area, not attached to Tokyo Station. Plan your final approach from the station you will use, especially after an overnight flight with children and bags.

Choose it over MONday when apartment space matters more than private laundry. For a child who cannot use an upper bunk, establish the sleeping arrangement before reserving. A bunk's nominal capacity alone does not settle whether it is suitable for your family.

2. MONday Apart Asakusabashi Akihabara: Private Laundry

The Standard Family has four sleeping positions in approximately 30–31 m²: two singles, a sofa bed and a bunk berth. The official property page lists a kitchen and washer-dryer among the apartment equipment. This is our practical laundry choice, rather than an automatically cheaper hotel.

For a longer trip, work out how often you would wash clothes. If the answer is every second evening, avoiding a separate laundry trip may be worth more than additional floor space. For a two-night visit, the same feature may make little difference.

The trade-off is sharing a compact living space once the beds are prepared. Think about where a stroller and open cases would go, and whether anyone wants to sit up after the children sleep. Four sleeping positions do not create separate sleeping areas.

Choose it when laundry is the daily task you want to simplify. Verify the full property name: several MONday apartment hotels have similar Akihabara and Asakusabashi names. Choose an upgrade for an improvement in the layout, not just a more impressive label.

3. Hotel Metropolitan Edmont: A Room for Four or Five

Edmont's East Wing Family is 37 m² and accommodates up to five. Its official room page notes that layouts vary. Read the bed allocation after selecting your full party; five-person capacity does not mean five permanent beds.

For future trips, note the naming change: East Wing Family through January 11, 2027, then Deluxe Twin – East Wing from January 12, 2027. Searching only the old name may hide the room you meant to compare.

This is worth considering when keeping five people in one hotel room matters more than having a kitchen. Assign each person a sleeping position from the actual offer. An older child who needs a bed should not be entered as a bed-sharing child just to make a search result appear.

Choose it when the fifth place is essential and the offered layout works for everyone. Compare the same five guests with Keio Plaza. Extra space may be worth the difference for a week; a shorter visit may favor the smaller option if everyone is comfortable with the bedding.

4. Tobu Hotel Levant Tokyo: Four Fixed Beds

The room to find is Fourth. Tobu's official specifications describe a 28.5 m² room with four permanent beds, explicitly distinguishing them from extra beds. It has a clear role for older children, teenagers or four adults who do not want bunks or sofa beds.

Four beds in this footprint leave less space for living around them. Count how many suitcases need to stay open, and consider unpacking into smaller bags. A smaller room can still be the better choice if equal beds are what lets everyone sleep well.

Use the Kinshicho location when checking your routes rather than treating every Tokyo address as interchangeable. A view, if important, should be part of the booked category; a skyline photograph does not describe every Fourth room.

Choose it over Keio Plaza when four conventional beds solve the problem and extra floor area matters less. Compare complete rates for the same dates. We do not assign a permanent budget label because the price relationship can change.

5. Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo: More Space and Two Toilets

The Luxury Family Room has four fixed beds in 46.3 m². A fifth guest uses a sofa bed. The official room page specifies two toilets and a double washbasin: concrete reasons to consider it when the morning routine is a bottleneck.

Extra space is valuable when you will spend time in the room. Think about a rest afternoon, a rainy evening or packing before an early departure. If you mainly need somewhere to sleep, the simpler four-bed option at Tobu may be sufficient.

Choose it when the space and bathroom arrangement justify the total for your stay. For five guests, check that the sofa bed is prepared and included. For four, do not pay for a fifth place you do not need merely because a booking page highlights maximum capacity.

Before You Pay: Check the Actual Family Booking

Search with every guest and each child's age. Open the room details rather than accepting the lowest property-level price. If the platform shows only a standard twin, that is not a substitute for the family category above.

Bed-sharing allowances vary by hotel and plan. They do not automatically include another bed or breakfast. If the arrangement is unclear, obtain written confirmation before choosing a non-refundable rate. A request made after payment does not replace booking the correct capacity.

Room, view and food photographs can show categories or meals outside the selected plan. Use the named room's specifications and the rate's meal conditions to decide what you are buying. The image at the top of this guide is illustrative, not hotel photography.

Save the confirmation with guest count, room name and included bedding. When comparing providers, keep dates, occupancy, meals and cancellation terms identical. Once you know the cancellation terms, check insurance for shared family bookings. Confirm who is insured and how a shared room is allocated if one child or adult cannot travel; the whole family's costs are not automatically covered by one person's policy.
